Many of our competitors require — or try to require through financial incentives — long-term agreements when you sign up for a SaaS license. One major competitor then immediately sells the contract to a bank, making withholding payments due to non-compliance almost impossible. This is so wrong!
It's not like you're leasing a vehicle where the lessor incurs significant expense when you sign up. The software is already developed. It costs the lessor almost nothing to add you as a user!
Please don't sign a long-term agreement for an ERP based on a remote demo. We hear of situations all the time where a local dealer isn't keeping their promises, or the software doesn't really do everything you need it to. They try to get out of the 3-year deal they signed and realize it is virtually impossible, from a legal perspective.
